Thiruvananthapuram: Private buses owners in the state have decided to stop services from August 1. The joint protest committee took the decision considering financial liabilities.

Despite the government increasing ticket rates, private buses are suffering from financial losses. With the increase in fuel prices, the buses are not making enough profit for the service to continue, the owners said. The sharp decrease in the number of people using public transport was another setback.

Citing these reasons, private bus owners decided to stop the services.
